Sr Business Data Analyst

Position Summary:
The Sr. Business Data Analyst will play a key role in the data ingestion and downstream integration into EQH Care Intelligence platform. This position will serve as a key resource working with internal business and technical teams to understand data availability, data discrepancies and provide mapping documentation to engineering teams.

Responsibilities:
• Facilitate workshops to gather use cases and business requirements and perform discovery sessions.
• Create and maintain business requirements documentation for data processes, including scope/objectives, design, data mappings, data quality considerations, etc.
• Perform data profiling and analysis to understand data quality and integrity.
• Create comprehensive business documentation related to data quality implementations.
• Evaluate and suggest options for process improvements related to data management activities.
• Collaborate with data custodians and data stewards to define Data Quality (DQ) rules and design DQ dashboards.
• Communicate and validate requirements with stakeholders to ensure alignment.
• Collaborate effectively with business and IT teams to achieve project goals.
• Reviews output of engineering/development for alignment to requirments, surfacing discrepancies and supporting documentation and communication of non-adherent data
• As necessary, works in collaboration with the Sr. Data Architect/Modeler to surface new technical and data model requirements for project implementations
• Supports the exchange of data with internal and external downstream entities

Required Knowledge, Education & Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field of study
• Nine (9) years extensive hands-on experience as a Busines data analyst or related function
• Seven (7) years of experience in the healthcare domain
• Extensive understanding of healthcare data, with particular emphasis on Payer Data (Eligibility, Medical & Pharmacy Claims, Quality, Risk Adjustment, etc.)
• Experience with HEDIS and other healthcare quality measures (AHRQ, NCQA) required
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
• Extensive business analysis experience, specifically for organizations processing healthcare data
• Demonstrated understanding of commonly utilized data exchange procedures
• Demonstrated knowledge of common data documentation standards
• Demonstrated knowledge of technical data environments, including concepts such as data lake, data warehouse, business intelligence, etc.
• Demonstrated ability to partner with individuals from business and technical functions to drive outcomes
• Able to be self-directed and comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems, and products

Highly Preferred Skills, Abilities & Qualifications:
• Successful completion of assessments in data analysis and strong in SQL
• AWS (Cloud) concepts

Physical Requirements
• On occasion, the individual may be required to lift up to 25 pounds independently, anything over 25 pounds with assistance.
• Vision and hearing acuity.
• Work involves walking, talking, hearing, using hands type, feel or operate objects and tools to include computers and office equipment.
• Ability to sit in a stationary position for longer periods of time.
• Must have the ability to perform the essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
